FIRST TEST CENTRES ACCREDITED IN ECUADOR

ICDL Latinoamérica Accreditation Partner, CORPECE, has accredited Vera Quintana Asociados is as a new Test Centre in Quito. FUNDAPI (Assistance through Internet Foundation), a non-profit organization, has also been accredited as a test centre in Guayaquilte. Read more.


ICDL NOW AVAILABLE IN LIMURU, KENYA

ICDL Africa has awarded Accredited Test Centre status to several more institutions in Kenya, including for the first time, a test centre in Limuru. Read more.


ICDL ASIA AND ESO RENEW PARTNERSHIP IN AFGHANISTAN

ICDL Asia and the Educational Support Organization (ESO) in Afghanistan have signed a new agreement which expects to deliver at least 10,000 examinations (in both English and Farsi) to individuals in Afghanista, helping to develop and validate the IT skills of the Afghan workforce. Read more.


ICDL AFRICA TEAM VISIT GHANA

During a recent visit to Ghana, ICDL Africa, met with the team at Ghana’s Advanced Information Technology Institute, the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), a leading ICDL Accredited Test Centre (ATC) in West Africa. Read more.


SINGAPORE GOVERNMENT ENDORSES 6 NEW ICDL MODULES

The Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) recently announced that from 15 July 2014 onwards, 6 new ICDL modules will be added to its Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Framework. This is one of the first major endorsements for all the new modules from a national level. Read more.

24 April was Girls in ICT day 2014 and we were reminded why we need more women working in ICT. Equal gender representation in the ICT (Information Communication Technology) sector isn’t just a feminist issue - it is much more than that. DIGITAL AGENDA FOR EUROPE ON TRACK TO DELIVER ITS TARGETS

More than 90% of the actions foreseen in the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE) flagship initiative are completed or on track, according to a new European Commission communication on the progress of the Europe 2020 Strategy. More on the Progress of the Digital Agenda for Europe.


MOBILE INTERNET BOOMS IN EUROPE WHILE BROADBAND STAGNATES

According to the 2014 Eurobarometer on e-Communications, the number of EU households with an Internet connection at home (65%) has decreased by 3% since 2013, and no growth of broadband Internet access has been measured in 2013. More on the 2014 Eurobarometer on e-Communications.
